Lasting Memories of Our Garden and Beyond

In our beautiful garden we called our little “Switzerland,”

The giant towering plain trees distinctly stand out,

Always dutifully shading us from the blinding sun,

Serving as home for the sparrows and black crows’ nests,

Beneath them birthdays and festivities happily planned,

The precious warming presence and gift of parents and son,

Blissful family gatherings of cousins and more cousins,

Of children playing pranks, racing, diving and swimming,

What laughing tales told, and what tears of remorse shed,

The lush fruit trees lined up dutifully everywhere for us,

The gift of walnuts from the colossal walnut trees,

Rows of persimmon trees with their orangey fruit.
